Professional Work Experience
- Internship: 01.01.2001 to 31.12.2001 at General Hospital, Sector- 16, Chandigarh
- Postgraduate Residency: Three years training for Diplomate of
National Board at Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai.
- The 3-year structured training programme included an original research thesis work. My study was a prospective trial entitled "Randomized Comaparative Study of Intraoperative 5- Fluorouracil and Mitomycn C in Primary Trabeculectomy in Primary Adult Onset Glaucomas" under the guidance of Dr. Krishnadas, which was submitted and subsequently accepted by the Diplomate of National Board.
- Surgical Experience included supervised/ independently performed surgeries like extra capsular cataract extraction, Small incision cataract surgery, Phaco emulsification, trabeculectomies, combined ECCE and trabeculectomy, penetrating keratoplasty, dacryocystorhinostomy, squints, repair of lid lacerations, corneoscleral perforations and the whole range of minor operative procedures including entropion and ectropion repairs and tarsorrhaphy procedures. Also performed laser procedures like YAG capsulotomy, peripheral iridectomies, Panretinal Photocoagulation and barrage lasers independently.
- Assisted various surgeries like buckling surgery for retinal detachments, vitreoretinal surgery, deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty, AMT with ALT, orbitotomies etc.
- I have presented various seminars, cases and journal clubs in various departments. In addition, participated in inter departmental educational meetings and conferences and presented at these meetings.
- One month Observership (January 2006) at Dr. RP Centre of Ophthalmic Sciences, AIIMS, New Delhi, with research work in Paediatric keratoplasty- "Rehabilitation of Post keratoplasty children".
- Consultant at Dr. Pattnaik’s Laser Eye Institute, New Delhi from February to December 2006
- Phacoemulsification Surgery training from 1st to 15th January 2007 at Rajan Eye Care Hospital, Chennai under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Mohan Rajan and Dr. Sujata Mohan
